The Roatan Dolphin Encounter was voted in the #1 excursion for families in Roatan. Your dolphin excursion starts by taking a boat over to the dolphin lagoon on a private island. There you will get in waist deep water with 12 bottle nose dolphins and a trainer. You will be in a group of 6 people and the trainer will describe the dolphin´s behavioural patterns, social structure, physiology and will give you the opportunity to touch, kiss and play with them. The centre has won awards for its excellent treatment of the dolphins and they are one of two centers in the world who regularly let their dolphins out in the open ocean (where they are free to not come back if they choose). They will also display their amazing strength by doing jumps and tail walks. During the session you can take your own photos. There will also be a professional photographer to take your photo. Fun for all ages and no water skills required! The dolphin encounter tour includes return transportation from your resort.

Wedding group trip

The dolphins were so friendly and playful. The trainer gave us lots of interesting facts about their lives and behavior. It was great to know that the dolphins are free to swim in the open ocean. My kids couldn’t stop talking about it. A perfect family activity!

Perfect for young kids

Being in waist-deep water with a dolphin was surreal. Our trainer was so knowledgeable and explained everything about the dolphins’ behavior and physiology. We got to touch, kiss, and play with the dolphins, which was a dream come true. The highlight was watching their amazing jumps and tail walks. This is a must-do for families visiting Roatan!

The boat ride to the private island was smooth, and the lagoon was beautiful. Our trainer was friendly and informative. I loved how we could take our own photos, and the professional shots turned out great. The dolphins seemed happy and well-cared for. I only wish we had more time with them.

It was amazing to be so close to these intelligent creatures. Our group was small, which made the experience even more personal. The trainer shared so much interesting information about dolphins. Seeing them in their natural habitat was heartwarming. Highly recommend this tour!

Good for price

The lagoon was beautiful, and the dolphins seemed well-cared for. Our trainer was knowledgeable and engaging. We got to touch and play with the dolphins, and the photos turned out great. The only downside was the session felt a bit short. Overall, a fantastic tour.
